AMERICAN RED CROSS LEVELS

The Solon Recreation Aquatic staff is very happy to provide American Red Cross Learn to Swim levels.  As an ARC affiliate, your child will be receiving quality lessons.  Please take the time to review the age suggestions and Level requirements so you can place your child in the level that is appropriate. Improper placement can lead to frustration for the parent, instructor and the student.  Due to limited class sizes and safety, students can not be moved up or back a level if they are not registered for the correct level.  If you have questions or are not sure of the level placement please contact Mary at the S.C.C. before the registration date. Rules and polices will be reviewed at the first class of each session, a parent is expected to accompany student.

WHY WATER EXERCISE?

Water Exercise provides very similar benefits as land-based resistance exercise classes: you can improve cardiovascular health, increase strength and ultimately improve functional ability.  Dry land resistance training requires equipment such as free weights, bands or tubing; in the water, the water is nature’s tool.  Water is around 12 times more resistant than air; it has a stabilizing effect that is helpful in strengthening truck and postural muscles to improve balance and has minimal weight bearing for the participant.  Please try out one or more of the classes that Solon Recreation offers come ready to have fun and meet some great people.
