Tracy Hejduk
Tracy started
working with the Recreation Department in the fall
of 1990 at the concession stand. In the summer of
1993, Tracy became a summer camp counselor and
started working various after-school programs and
special events. Since then, Tracy was promoted to
camp supervisor in 1995 and was later hired as a
full time program coordinator in 1997. Although the
majority of her time is spent working on the
planning and implementing of summer camp, Tracy also
coordinates year-round pre-school, youth and teen
programs and special events.
In 1986, Tracy moved
to Solon, where she attended Solon school and
participated in Recreation Department programs, such
as softball. She graduated from Solon High School
and continued her education at Bowling Green State
University for two years before transferring to Kent
State University. Tracy received a bachelor’s
degree from Kent State in Leisure Studies
Management. Since college, Tracy has remained in
the Solon area, where her family still resides.
Throughout the years
Tracy has spent with the Recreation Department, her
favorite memories are the ones from summer camp.
Spending the day with the campers, whether it’s
playing games, talking with them or going on field
trips, is the best way to spend the summer. Her
favorite part of the job is seeing how happy the
children are while they are participating in the
programs and having the opportunity to watch the
children grow up as they come back year after year.
